Individualized non-surgical therapy – How far can we go?

Periodontologist are dealing with hopeless teeth daily. Patients with advanced periodontitis should consider extract these teeth and replace them with prosthetics. However, patients are often not very happy with such a plan and wish to preserve their teeth for as long as they can. Sometimes, these hopeless teeth remain in the patients' mouths for an extended period.

By adopting an individualized approach for these patients, we can assist them in retaining such teeth in function. This approach may sometimes require a slight "modification" of the Guidelines set by the EFP.

During this process, nowadays we can benefit from new and modern devices that not only facilitate our work but also make visits to the periodontologist more pleasant for patients.
