Prof. Dr. Funda Yalçın graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Dentistry in 1985. She completed her doctoral education in the Department of Periodontology at the same university. During doctoral education, she was an observer student at University College London for 1 month, and later, she attended the Periodontology residency program with TUBITAK scholarship, at the U Penn, USA intermittently for two years. She was awarded the title of "Associate Professor" in 1996 and "Professor" in 2002. Currently, she is the head of the Department of Periodontology at Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry. Prof. Dr. Funda Yalçın has published many articles and papers in national and international journals. She is also the chairman of the Ethics Committee of Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry. She is married and has 1 child.
