Biomaterials and sutures in modern periodontal surgery

Developments in the microsurgery have led to an era of invisible dentistry. Technical improvements and advancement in biomaterials facilitate to augment the deficient sites. Despite these developments, the rules of the biology remain the same. Blood supply, handling of the soft tissues, flap thickness, design and tension are key elements to achieve optimal surgical outcome. These factors should be critically evaluated and controlled by clinician. In this training module, participants will receive the core of modern periodontal treatment concepts for periodontal tissue reconstruction.
